ABSTRACTWith the objective of updating the criteria on the sustainability of agrarian reform and measuring this concept, it is proposed the adaptation of a model from three frames of work through the formation of domains (social, economic and environmental), criteria and indicators. The procedure used was based on a systematic review of the scientific information, which is the input to develop the assessment tool (surveys) or the type of sample (soil, water or biomass) to take the agricultural system to measure. The participation of those involved (farmers) is fundamental in stating indicators which are easy to obtain and measure being adopted these items by a panel of experts whose contribution is validated with the coefficient alpha of Cronbach, through the determination of the sample for the work in the field. With the results the farming system was characterized, providing the research with the allocation of weights to the indicators on the basis of the scientific literature selected, continuing with the normalization of linear 0 to 1.Keywords: Criteria, Indicators, agricultural system.
