ABSTRACTEducation for identity is a current time urgency in which autochthonous cultures are blurring, facing the avalanche of pseudo-cultural products which flood all living spaces and try to homogenize preferences and ways of feeling, thinking and acting, especially children and young people. Under such conditions, all-encouraging, the school stands as one of the ways to grow and cultivate universal human values. The objective of this article is to identify the possibilities that the junior high school curriculum offers to contribute to the identity education of the students. Knowing, treasuring and acting in favor of tangible and intangible heritage at the local, national and world levels from the classroom can be one of the most expeditious ways to set the four bases of Education in the XXI century and contribute to the achievement of the much-desired education of quality for all, which UNESCO has encouraged. Keywords:Junior High School, Education, identity, heritage, curriculum, value formation.
