El inicio de un nuevo ciclo escolar en México ante el Covid-19. Comparativo entre contextos rural y urbano

Resumen

En México el regreso a las actividades escolares se vislumbra en términos de una nueva normalidad con el inicio del ciclo escolar 2020-2021, ello ante la pandemia por Covid-19 que se mantiene sin saber su periodo de finalización. La presente investigación compara el nivel de preparación y capacitación, así como el apoyo recibido, las dificultades y la satisfacción del profesorado del contexto rural y urbano previo a la reanudación de labores escolares en modalidad remota. Participaron 1954 docentes de 14 Estados diferentes del país. Los resultados indican que, aunque la estrategia nacional Aprende en Casa presenta cobertura y es atractiva, las condiciones de las zonas rurales han obligado al profesorado a modificar la estrategia ofreciendo apoyo específico al estudiantado del área rural, evidenciándose las diferencias de condiciones en las que se enseña por contextos educativos. En este sentido, se concluye que el aumento del tiempo de trabajo en la adaptación de materiales de enseñanza en el profesorado y el desarrollo de habilidades para el estudio independiente por parte del alumnado se han marcado como las principales preocupaciones en ambos contextos, más allá de la disposición de dispositivos tecnológicos, los cuales desde un inicio han resultado insuficientes.

ABSTRACT

In Mexico, the return to school activities is seen in terms of a new normal with the start of the 2020-2021 school year, this in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic that continues without knowing its end period. This research compares the level of preparation and training, as well as the support received, the difficulties and the satisfaction of teachers in the rural and urban context prior to resuming school work remotely 1954 teachers from 14 different states of the country participated. The results indicate that although the national strategy Aprende en Casa presents coverage and is attractive, the conditions of rural areas have forced teachers to modify the strategy by offering specific support to students in rural areas, showing the differences in the conditions in which it is taught by educational contexts. In this sense, it is concluded that the increase in working time in the adaptation of teaching materials in teachers and the development of skills for independent study by students have been marked as the main concerns in both contexts, beyond the provision of technological devices, which from the beginning have been insufficient.
