Prevención del tabaquismo en adolescentes
Abstract
Se ha argumentado que en muchos países, incluyendo a Cuba, la prevalencia de tabaquismo es muy alta en los adolescentes. El inicio de la adicción de fumar a edad temprana incrementa el riesgo de muerte de causa relacionada con el tabaquismo. Se efectuó una investigación en el Preuniversitario “Manuel Prieto Labrada”, de Cumanayagua, Cienfuegos, en adolescentes de Onceno grado, con una muestra de 70 adolescentes, para 79.5 %; se utilizaron métodos del nivel teórico, empírico y matemático-estadístico. Se comprobó que el conocimiento que los adolescentes tienen acerca de los nocivos efectos producto del tabaquismo es insuficiente y no realizan actividades con respecto a modificar favorablemente dicha situación, por lo que se diseñó una estrategia educativa que permitirá dar respuesta favorable al problema científico

ABSTRACT
In many countries, including Cuba, smoking indexes are really high in adolescents. The beginning of the smoking addiction at early ages increases the risk of death by smoking-related causes. A research was conducted at “Manuel Prieto” Senior High School in Cumanayagua, Cienfuegos; using as sample 70 eleventh grade adolescents, which represents 79.5 % of the population. Theoretical, empirical, and mathematical-statistic methods were used. During the research it was proven that the knowledge adolescents have about the smoking poisoning effects is insufficient, and that they do not do any activity to modify this situation, so an educative strategy was designed in response to the scientific problem stated.
