Utilización de las redes sociales para apoyar la docencia universitaria en tiempo de COVID–19

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el uso de las redes sociales como herramientas de apoyo a la docencia en la asignatura de Sistemas de Información, Ingeniería del Software y Calidad del Software de la carrera de Tecnologías de la Información, en la Universidad Estatal del Sur de Manabí, Ecuador en tiempos de Covid-19. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo no experimental descriptivo. Se aplicó una encuesta a una muestra de 227 estudiantes, pertenecientes a las asignaturas antes referidas. Los principales resultados destacan criterios positivos sobre el empleo de las redes sociales en el proceso formativo y algunas inconformidades respecto a la interacción del docente para ayudar a comprender los contenidos, orientar y aclarar dudas. El 90% de los alumnos encuestados, opinaron que este medio de comunicación los motiva hacia el estudio. Se concluye que el uso de estas herramientas de la Web 2.0, como apoyo a los procesos educativos favorece la interactividad, gestión del conocimiento y creación de entornos de trabajo colaborativos.

 ABSTRACT

The objective of the study was to evaluate the use of social networks as tools to support teaching in the subject of Information Systems, Software Engineering and Software Quality of the Information Technology career, at the State University of the South of Manabí, Ecuador in times of Covid-19. The research was developed under a descriptive, non-experimental, quantitative approach. A survey was applied to a sample of 227 students, belonging to the aforementioned subjects. The main results highlight positive criteria on the use of social networks in the training process and some disagreements regarding the interaction of the teacher to help understand the contents, guide and clarify doubts. 90% of the students surveyed believed that this means of communication motivates them to study. It is concluded that the use of these Web 2.0 tools, as support for educational processes, favors interactivity, knowledge management and the creation of collaborative work environments.
