Authors

Abstract

Artificial intelligence has emerged as a key tool to improve the teaching and learning process. The objective is to design a training proposal in Artificial Intelligence applied to teaching for teachers of Higher Basic Education and High School. An exploratory descriptive study with a mixed approach was conducted at the Guayaquil Naval Academy, Ecuador, with 20 teachers, who were given the course "Didactic use of Artificial Intelligence tools", in a combined face-to-face and virtual modality. An initial survey was conducted to diagnose the level of knowledge and experiences, and a final survey was conducted to verify satisfaction with the course, through Google Forms. Statistical processing was carried out in Excel. The main results show that 95% of the respondents stated that they had applied intelligence tools, although 45% did not know any of the specific tools mentioned. Thirty percent stated that the greatest challenge was the lack of teacher training. After the course, 85% of the participants considered that it had a great impact on their knowledge of the subject and that the methodology followed was very successful. It is concluded that the course was highly effective in increasing teachers' knowledge and confidence in the use of these tools and reflected a high overall satisfaction with the training. The high recommendation of the course by the participants indicated a high level of satisfaction with the training.
