Abstract

This article deals with the Thesis Workshop II on Quantitative Analysis of the Doctorate in Education and Social Intervention (DEIS-VI) of UNAN-Managua/CUR-Estelí, which took place in May 2024, with the objective of strengthening the skills of a sample of 29 teachers in the handling of quantitative data. This workshop was crucial to provide participants with basic and advanced statistical tools necessary for the rigorous analysis and interpretation of their educational and social research projects. The methodology of this study is mixed, involving theoretical sessions, practical workshops and analysis of individual projects, and the use of various data collection instruments, such as questionnaires and observation. Key concepts such as measures of central tendency, dispersion, correlation and regression were introduced, and specialized software such as SPSS was used to practice these concepts. In addition, instrument validation was addressed by calculating Cronbach's alpha. It is important to mention that the doctoral students demonstrated significant competencies in descriptive and inferential analysis, applying relevant statistical tests and communicating results effectively. However, they faced technical challenges, such as the downtime of the internet connection, which were overcome through alternative strategies. The conclusions of the workshop highlight a remarkable development in analytical skills, interpretation of results and communication of findings, preparing participants to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in education and social intervention
