Manual for the preparation of principals for the operation of the fourth cycle in Special Education

Abstract

The management of a special school plays a role in the performance of teaching and learning activities where the identification, knowledge and evaluation of special educational needs derived from disability is encouraged, organize specific strategies in each space in response to each of the diagnoses and design integration, inclusion and attention to diversity projects with high responsibility for the operation in the same educational organization.  Precisely, as a research result of doctoral training, in conjunction with the project Educational care for children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs from concepts, contexts and development practices, it is proposed a manual with fundamental elements that contribute to an adequate preparation of Special Education directors and requirements that are taken into account when directing in the fourth cycle of the Special School. The manual contains a generalized structural description, based on theoretical and methodological references, together with the regulations that legalize its procedures and the reflections achieved during the review of the documentary study, the analysis-synthesis of the background and latest research related to the subject, the induction-deduction in order to favor systematization as a theoretical and practical process with the managers themselves. Among the novelties are identified the adaptations of the management mechanisms of a special school, managing to reduce the communication gap and promoting greater participation among all, in a flexible and creative way, as works of infinite love in the comprehensive educational care of students with intellectual disabilities in the fourth cycle.
