Educational strategy for the dental care of patients using Local anesthetics
Abstract
Local anesthetics are widely used drugs in modern dental practice. They constitute the main category of medications for pain control in stomatology. Therefore, it is essential for all specialists in this branch of health to know first-hand and make these substances part of their daily practice. Knowledge of their pharmacological properties, mechanisms of action, contraindications, precautions to take into account for their selection and interactions will allow you to act with caution and choose them appropriately, taking advantage of their benefits and limiting their risks. Researching topics related to dental care, with the use of local anesthetics and from an educational perspective, is a challenge that requires a large-scale review of the scientific literature. This is based on the variety of drugs used, the number of studies carried out as well as the level of technological development achieved by society. At the same time, it is always a need for the scientific community and to ensure the quality of life of patients. In correspondence with the above, the objective of this research is: to develop an educational strategy that contributes to raising the quality of dental care for patients with the use of local anesthetics. Theoretical, empirical and mathematical-statistical methods were used to develop the academic procedure. In conclusion: an educational strategy was designed that allowed raising students' knowledge about local anesthetics.
