Improvement strategy for the interpretation of cuban music by new musicians
Abstract
The article shows the problems that exist for the adequate interpretation of cuban popular music by new musicians, specifically in the emblematic Tropicana cabaret. This was confirmed after having applied instruments and techniques for collecting information such as the observation guide, the survey, the musicality test, as well as the analysis of documents on the topic in question, which helped to clarify and scientifically validate this study. That is why an improvement strategy is proposed for the adequate interpretation of live cuban music, aimed at novice musicians of the aforementioned cabaret. The contribution is given from the selection of the constituent components of the improvement strategy: the structure and content of the musical accompaniment workshops, which contributes to the theory in cuban musical pedagogy. The practical significance starts from the application of the strategy, composed of actions that incorporate modes of performance and development of skills, for the interpretation, exercise and accompaniment of live cuban popular music.
