Estudio preliminar sobre conocimientos y actitudes de docentes universitarios hacia alumnos LGBTIQ.

Resumen

La homofobia se encuentra presente en las Instituciones de Educación Superior en México, en las cuales existen alumnos que pertenecen a la diversidad sexual, en ocasiones, estos alumnos expresan una orientación sexual e identidad de género no heterosexual-hegemónica. Algunos docentes no tienen instrucción suficiente para atender a la diversidad sexual, con el propósito de analizar los conocimientos y actitudes en docentes universitarios en el estado de Hidalgo en IES públicas, con la intención de que puedan construir un mayor acervo sobre diversidad sexual y evitar incurrir en prácticas docentes que puedan vulnerar los derechos humanos de estudiantes: Lesbianas, Gays, Bisexuales, Trans, Intersexuales, Queers (LGBTIQ). Por lo que se aplicó un cuestionario compuesto por 61 ítems, compuesto en tres factores: sociodemográfico, actitudes y conocimientos, buscando conocer si existía una actitud positiva o negativa y si los conocimientos con los cuáles contaban los docentes hacía LGBTIQ son suficientes. Los resultados preliminares que permitieron conocer el porcentaje de conocimientos y actitudes de docentes, hacia la diversidad sexual; por lo que es necesario se siga creando mayor investigación que permita generar información sobre el tema para crear ambientes áulicos inclusivos.

ABSTRACT

Homophobia is present in Higher Education Institutions in Mexico, in Mexican institutions there are students who belong to sexual diversity, sometimes these students express a non-heterosexual-hegemonic sexual orientation and gender identity. Some teachers do not have sufficient instruction to deal with sexual diversity, with the purpose of analyzing the knowledge and attitudes of university teachers in the state of Hidalgo in public IES, with the intention that they can build a greater body of knowledge on sexual diversity and avoid incurring in teaching practices that may violate the human rights of students: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer (LGBTIQ). Therefore, a questionnaire composed of 61 items was applied, composed of three factors: sociodemographic, attitudes and knowledge, seeking to know if there was a positive or negative attitude and if the knowledge of the teachers towards LGBTIQ is sufficient. The preliminary results that allowed to know the percentage of knowledge and attitudes of teachers towards sexual diversity, so it is necessary to continue creating more research to generate information on the subject to create inclusive classroom environments.
