Development of an educational program of cultural promotion for tourists in the Tena canton, Ecuador
Keywords:
educational program, local tourism, cultureAbstract
The Tena canton has great potential to become an outstanding cultural tourist destination, thanks to its rich heritage and cultural authenticity. However, to fully take advantage of this potential, an educational program of cultural promotion for tourists is necessary that addresses the areas of improvement identified in the study, which constitutes the objective of the research. A mixed methodological approach is used, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies to obtain a deep understanding of local culture, tourism requirements and the most effective promotion strategies. By developing and promoting cultural routes, improving information accessibility, investing in community training, organizing more cultural events and improving tourism infrastructure, Tena can attract more tourists, encourage sustainable development and strengthen the cultural identity of the region. They provide a solid basis for the development of an educational cultural promotion program for tourists that not only increases the tourist attraction of Tena, but also benefits local communities, ensuring that tourism acts as a catalyst for the preservation and valorization of the local culture.
