Un enfoque académico en la evaluación de técnicas de Remoción de Aparatología Ortodóncica Fija

Abstract

Con el avance de la ciencia ha quedado atrás el embandamiento de las piezas dentarias y se ha implementado el uso de brackets adheridos al esmalte dental por lo que al terminar la ortodoncia existen diversos métodos para la remoción de los mismos y el pulido del adhesivo remanente siendo este conocimiento necesario para los estudiantes, académicos y los clínicos y así aplicar el método más idóneo para evitar daños en la estructura dentaria. Esta revisión tiene como objetivo encontrar evidencia suficiente sobre el daño que causa la remoción de la aparatología fija en la estructura dentaria con el fin de dar a conocer cuál es el método más idóneo. La literatura se seleccionó mediante una búsqueda en las bases de datos electrónicas: como Pubmed, Proquest, Cochrane, Ovid, Google Academic, Pesquisa, Scopus, Taylor & Francis, Base, Lillacs, Scielo. Las palabras clave utilizadas fueron: descementado, ortodoncia, fija, pulido, resina. La literatura disponible reveló que el método de retiro de la ortodoncia más idóneo es con pinza saca brackets o pinza de corte de ligadura y para el pulido seguir una secuencia de fresa de carburo de tungsteno en baja velocidad seca, posterior uso de discos soflex y pulido final con polvo de óxido de aluminio.

ABSTRACT

With the advance of science, the embanding of dental pieces has been left behind and the use of brackets adhered to the dental enamel has been implemented. Therefore, when finishing orthodontics, there are different methods for their removal and the polishing of the remaining adhesive, being this knowledge necessary for students, academics, and clinicians to apply the most suitable method to avoid damage to the dental structure. The objective of this review is to find sufficient evidence on the damage caused by the removal of fixed appliances in the dental structure to make known which is the most suitable method. The literature was selected by searching electronic databases such as Pubmed, Proquest, Cochrane, Ovid, Google Academic, Pesquisa, Scopus, Taylor & Francis, Base, Lillacs, Scielo. The keywords used were: debonding, orthodontics, fixed, polishing, resin. The available literature revealed that the most suitable method of orthodontic removal is with bracket removal forceps or ligature cutting forceps and for polishing follow a sequence of tungsten carbide burs in low dry speed, subsequent use of soflex discs and final polishing with aluminum oxide powder.
