Síntomas psicológicos por el uso de la mascarilla en centros hospitalarios

Resumen

El objetivo de este estudio es identificar los síntomas psicológicos que provoca el uso de la mascarilla facial en sujetos con Covid-19 o contactos de casos confirmados, ingresados en hospitales de La Habana y Santiago de Cuba. La metodología usada es mixta y se trabajó con una muestra de 106 casos. Los principales resultados muestran que hubo diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la valoración personal del uso de la mascarilla facial entre las provincias La Habana (negativa 16,04 % y positiva 33,02 %) y Santiago de Cuba (negativa 37,74 % y positiva 13,21 %), predominado, en la primera, las valoraciones positivas. Se concluye que el uso de la mascarilla facial aun constituye una necesidad de protección y existen síntomas psicológicos como la ansiedad, aumento del volumen de la voz, estrés, sensación de dificultad para hablar, cansancio, frustración y alteración de los hábitos, en sujetos que usan ésta por más de ocho horas.

 ABSTRACT

The objective of this study is to identify the psychological symptoms caused by the use of the facial mask in subjects with Covid-19 or contacts of confirmed cases, admitted to hospitals in Havana and Santiago de Cuba. The methodology used is mixed and we worked with a sample of 106 cases. The main results show that there were statistically significant differences in the personal assessment of the use of the facial mask between the provinces of Havana (negative 16.04% and positive 33.02%) and Santiago de Cuba (negative 37.74% and positive 13 , 21%), predominated, in the first, the positive evaluations. It is concluded that the use of a facial mask still constitutes a need for protection and there are psychological symptoms such as anxiety, increased volume of the voice, stress, sensation of difficulty speaking, fatigue, frustration and alteration of habits, in subjects who they wear this one for more than eight hours.
