Climate change in university curriculum linked to Sustainable Development Goals: systematic review
Abstract
The objective of this article is to inform, disseminate, and raise awareness about the information contained in the existing literature regarding the integration of climate change into the university curriculum in Peru, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. To conduct this study, a rigorous methodology was implemented that included an exhaustive search in three academic databases: Scopus and SciELO. As a result of this search, ten relevant academic articles published between 2019 and 2024 were selected. The conclusions of the study highlight the indispensable role that Peruvian universities play at the forefront of education on climate change and sustainability. These institutions are called upon to prepare students not only to respond to current needs but also to be equipped to face the global challenges that will arise in the future. In light of this, it is recommended to strengthen institutional support mechanisms and increase resource allocation, in order to overcome existing administrative barriers and promote a more effective and deeper integration of the SDGs into university curricula, thus ensuring an education that is both inclusive and transformative.
