PUBLICATION GUIDELINES
Authors interested in publishing in Conrado Journal must submit their works through the journal's platform accessible at: electronic: https://conrado.ucf.edu.cu/index.php/conrado/about/submissions
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors guarantee that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published, and is not under simultaneous evaluation in another journal. All works are verified using similarity detection tools. Non-compliance with these rules will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript. View a Policy
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare whether any conflict of interest (financial, personal, institutional) may have influenced the work. If none exist, the phrase must be included: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest"
On the journal's website you will find an instructional guide to help you create a user account and make your submission.
Conrado Journal accepts three types of contributions:
Original research articles: empirical works with methodological rigor that present unpublished results.
Bibliographic review articles: systematic analyses of the state of the art on relevant topics in the educational field.
Editorials: reflective texts or institutional position papers on issues of interest to the academic community.
The topics to be addressed must be included within the provisions of the journal's focus and scope.
Required structure:
Manuscripts must be organized following the IMRaD scheme (Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and Discussion) or, failing that, the classic Introduction, Development, and Conclusions structure. Clarity in the methodological description and a discussion that relates the findings to previous literature is recommended.
Only previously unpublished works that are not in the process of publication in other serial publications will be accepted. The language of publication will be Spanish; however, articles in English and Portuguese will be accepted if one of the authors comes from a country with that language, or if they have been translated by a professional translator.
Contributions may be written in Microsoft Office Word (.doc or .docx), using Calibri font, 12 points, line spacing 1.5 lines. The page dimensions should be 21.59 cm x 27.94 cm (Letter format). Top and bottom margins should be 2.5 cm, and right and left margins 2 cm.
A different font size for titles and subtitles in the article should be used according to the provided template.
Structure of Manuscripts
Contributions sent to the journal's editorial office must have the following structure:
Length between 4000 and 5000 words or up to 20 pages, and for review articles up to 25 pages.
TITLE in Spanish and English (maximum 15 words). Calibri font 14.
E-mail: (email address of each author, preferably institutional).
ORCID identifier: with the following format and without a final period: https://orcid.org/xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. It is mandatory that all authors of the article have their profile on https://orcid.org/ updated with their employment, main publications, and visible to the public.
In case of more than one author, the *Corresponding author must be defined, written after the name of the institutions as follows:
*Corresponding author: (Write the email of the designated author)
Abstract in Spanish up to 250 words, including presentation of the problem, general objective, methodology used, and main results achieved. An English version of the abstract must be provided.
Keywords in Spanish and English (three to ten in Spanish and English), separated by commas. It is suggested to use the UNESCO Thesaurus.
Introduction; Materials and methods; Results and discussion; and References for research articles; the remaining contributions will have: Introduction, Development, Conclusions (never numbered), and References. If there are Appendices, they will be included at the end of the document.
Download an article template that will help you structure your submission.
Other Formal Aspects
Pages are numbered in the upper right corner.
Tables are numbered in order of appearance, and their title is placed at the top (Calibri font 11). They must be cited in the text as follows: table 1 or (Table 1).
Figures should not exceed 100 Kb, nor should they be wider than 10 cm. They must be submitted in a separate folder in image format: .jpg or .png. In the text, they must be numbered in order of appearance, and their name placed at the bottom of the figure (Calibri font 11). They will be cited as follows: figure 1 or (Figure 1).
When the image or table is not of the author’s own creation, the source must be indicated as follows: Source: , for tables (size 8) and figures (size 9).
Abbreviations must accompany the text that defines them the first time, in parentheses, and are not conjugated in the plural. Example: Ministry of Higher Education (MES).
Notes are placed at the foot of the page and must be numbered with Arabic numerals. Only explanatory notes. They should have a length of up to 60 words.
Appendices support ideas raised in the work and must be mentioned in the text as: appendix 1 or (Appendix 1).
The principal author must upload to the platform a document, in their name and on behalf of all signatories, declaring that there is no conflict of interest related to the article, and specifying the contributions made by each author under the CRediT taxonomy.
Citations and Bibliographic References
Citations and bibliographic references must conform to the American Psychological Association (APA) style, 7th edition, 2019. The accuracy of citations and bibliographic references is the responsibility of the author(s) of the article. Up to 25 sources should be used, preferably: scientific articles.
It is important to prioritize sources from scientific journals indexed in WOS, Scopus, and SciELO. Avoid grey and outdated literature (maximum 5 years old).
In the manuscript, cited sources from scientific journals indexed in Scopus and WOS should be highlighted.
Avoid self-citations to Conrado journal; do not use more than one citation to our journal.
Although the APA standard does not require it, whenever possible provide the URL or DOI of the document.
In the text, citations will be indicated as follows: Author (year) if the sentence includes the author(s) last name(s). If these data are not included, the variant (Author, year) will be used. The page number is only included in direct quotations. Only those cited in the text will be listed at the end of the article, ordered alphabetically with a French hanging indent.
