Consideraciones éticas en la formación de especialistas en Ortodoncia: tratamiento de senos maxilares neumatizado

Resumen

El piso del seno maxilar afecta los ápices radiculares durante movimientos dentales, generando cambios en su longitud e inclinación. Identificar y considerar adecuadamente estas condiciones es crucial para el tratamiento ortodóncico en pacientes adultos con senos maxilares neumatizados. Su análisis por parte de los estudiantes de Ortodoncia exige consideraciones éticas que garanticen el bienestar y seguridad del paciente durante el tratamiento. La literatura se seleccionó mediante una búsqueda en bases de datos electrónicas: Pubmed, Google Académico, Ovid, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journal, Cochrane Library, Science directy, Scopus, Web of Science, Pro Quest, Manchester Library Search, esta búsqueda se restringió a artículos publicados desde abril 2013 hasta abril del año 2023 sin límite de idioma. Posteriormente, se aplicó la lista de cotejo PRISMA con la que se obtuvieron y revisaron 20 artículos idóneos para el desarrollo de esta revisión. Al final, la literatura disponible reveló que cuando existe cercanía del ápice del órgano dentario al seno maxilar existiría mayor inclinación radicular opuesta a la dirección del seno maxilar, por lo que este estudio propone postulados significativos en el que se usen velocidades constantes de movimiento, con fuerzas ligeras para que se produzca nula o ligera reabsorción radicular.

ABSTRACT

The floor of the maxillary sinus affects the root apices during dental movements, generating changes in their length and inclination. Adequately identifying and considering these conditions is crucial for orthodontic treatment in adult patients with pneumatized maxillary sinuses. Its analysis by Orthodontics students requires ethical considerations that guarantee the well-being and safety of the patient during treatment. The literature was selected by searching electronic databases: Pubmed, Google Scholar, Ovid, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journal, Cochrane Library, Science directy, Scopus, Web of Science, Pro Quest, Manchester Library Search, this search was restricted. to articles published from April 2013 to April 2023 with no language limit. Subsequently, the PRISMA checklist was applied, with which 20 suitable articles were obtained and reviewed for the development of this review. In the end, the available literature revealed that when the apex of the dental organ is close to the maxillary sinus, there would be a greater root inclination opposite to the direction of the maxillary sinus, so this study proposes significant postulates in which constant speeds of movement are used, with Light forces to produce no or slight root resorption.
