Abstract

Las universidades, como principales instituciones culturales de una nación, en su constante apropiación, generación y difusión del conocimiento, tienen el deber de asumir un rol activo en la promoción de salud y hacer que, desde el enfoque educacional y cultural, se potencien acciones con un amplio espectro creativo en sus diversas expresiones; para promover conductas responsables en el campo de la salud entre los jóvenes y su entorno. Es objetivo de este trabajo explicar las principales tesis que sustentan el proyecto extensionista “Centro Universitario de Promoción y Educación para la Salud” y resultados alcanzados desde el curso 2013-2014. La experiencia del proyecto extensionista constituye un espacio valioso que favorece el acercamiento de la universidad a los problemas sociales, realizando un aporte a la comunidad.

ABSTRACT

The universities, as main cultural institutions of a nation, in their constant appropriation, generation and diffusion of the knowledge, have the duty to assume an active role in the promotion of health and to make that, from the educational and cultural focus, be potentialized stocks with a wide creative spectrum in their diverse expressions; to promote responsible behaviors in the field of the health between the youths and their environment. It is objective of this work to explain the main thesis that sustain the extension project "I Center University student of Promotion and Education for Health" and results reached from the course 2013-2014. The experience of the extension project constitutes a valuable space that favors the approach from the university to the social problems, carrying out a contribution to the community.
