Educación y clases medias emergentes en lima metropolitana: una mirada crítica
Abstract
El presente texto analiza la cada vez mayor importancia de las instituciones educativas privadas en la educación de las clases medias emergentes en Lima (Perú). El estudio muestra que este boom de la educación privada surgió gracias a las políticas educativas neoliberales implementadas por el gobierno de Fujimori y al surgimiento de un nuevo tipo de clase media que centraba su identidad en un ideal pragmatista de progreso individual. Se muestran las principales características que definen a las instituciones educativas privadas en Lima y a sus medios de reproducción.

ABSTRACT
The present text analyzes the increasing importance of private educational institutions in the education of the emerging middle classes in Lima (Peru). The study shows that this boom in private education arose thanks to the neoliberal educational policies implemented by the Fujimori government and the emergence of a new type of middle class that focused its identity on a pragmatic ideal of individual progress. The main characteristics that define private educational institutions in Lima and their means of reproduction are shown.Keywords:
