Promoción de la educación sanitaria sobre salud bucodental en residentes de un centro de acogida en Ecuador

Abstract

Esta investigación se realiza con el objetivo de demostrar la efectividad un curso de promoción de educación sanitaria para la prevención de enfermedades bucodentales. Para ello se realizó un estudio mediante encuentros motivadores e instructivos en la casa de refugio “Matilde”, un centro de acogida temporal para madres y sus hijos que fueron víctimas de violencia doméstica. Como primer paso del estudio se le entregó a cada madre un cuestionario sobre educación bucodental, luego estas se sometieron a conferencias sobre el tema y por último se aplicaron nuevamente los mismos formularios, con el fin de analizar estadísticamente si las clases de educación bucodental tuvieron influencia en la educación sanitaria de la comunidad.

ABSTRACT

This research is carried out with the aim of demonstrating the effectiveness of health education for the prevention of oral diseases. For this purpose, a study was carried out through motivational and instructive meetings at the "Matilde" Shelter House, a temporary shelter for mothers and their children who were victims of domestic violence. As a first step of the study, each mother was given a questionnaire on oral health education, then they underwent lectures on the subject and finally the same forms were applied again, in order to statistically analyze whether the oral health education classes had an influence on the answers.
