Evaluation of the effectiveness of the workshop in the development of research skills in students
Abstract
The present study evaluated the effectiveness of the application of the participatory workshop in the preparation of students at the Regional Autonomous University of the Andes in order to determine how the inclusion of this technique can enrich the educational process and strengthen the research capabilities of the students. . A quasi-experimental design was used with two test groups: an experimental group, which received the participatory workshop technique, and a control group, which continued with the traditional teaching approach. At the end of the semester, surveys and standardized tests were carried out to evaluate the perceptions and skills developed by students in both groups. The results showed that the majority of students in the experimental group positively perceived the usefulness and relevance of the participatory workshop. Furthermore, standardized tests revealed significant differences in skills such as critical thinking, teamwork ability, practical application of theoretical knowledge, and problem-solving ability, all with higher scores in the experimental group. The results obtained indicate that the participatory workshop is an effective educational methodology that promotes critical and practical skills. Its integration into the university curriculum is recommended to improve student preparation. This study provides empirical evidence on the benefits of participatory workshops, suggesting their potential application in various educational contexts to enrich the learning experience.
