Significación de la Licenciatura en Pedagogía del Idioma Inglés en la Universidad Técnica del Norte

Abstract

La educación ecuatoriana en la actualidad se desarrolla sobre la base de un nuevo contexto educativo-legal, en ella es indispensable una oferta académica que aplique de manera interdisciplinaria, investigación, vinculación y docencia, para contribuir a la formación integral del ser humano. El artículo tiene como objetivo indagar sobre los cambios curriculares necesarios, para que la carrera Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros especialidad Inglés de la Universidad Técnica del Norte, responda a las exigencias del sistema educativo actual. Se aplicó una investigación de corte cuanti-cualitativo, para generar conocimiento teniendo como punto de partida el contexto social y cultural de la población estudiada. El futuro rediseño debe incorporar innovaciones que resuelvan las limitaciones actuales de los egresados de la carrera; a través de la utilización de métodos como el Content Language Integrated Learning, que comparte cualidades holísticas y heurísticas bajo un enfoque constructivista, comunicativo y a la par debe promover la investigación como un medio de perfeccionamiento educativo en una sinergia teoría-práctica

ABSTRACT

Ecuadorian education is currently developed on the basis of a new educational-legal context, it is essential an academic offer that applies in an interdisciplinary manner, research, linking and teaching, to contribute to the integral formation of the human being. The objective of the article is to investigate the necessary curricular changes, so that the career of Pedagogy of the National and Foreign Languages specializes in English at the Technical University of the North, responding to the demands of the current educational system. A quantitative-qualitative research was applied to generate knowledge taking as a starting point the social and cultural context of the studied population. The future redesign must incorporate innovations that resolve the current limitations of the graduates of the career; through the use of methods such as Content Language Integrated Learning, which shares holistic and heuristic qualities under a constructivist, communicative approach and at the same time should promote research as a means of educational improvement in a theory-practice synergy
