Investigación científica. Pertinencia en la educación superior del siglo XXI

Resumen

La investigación científica es un indicador de la calidad de los procesos en el ámbito universitario, de manera que debe ser incrementada en virtud de los resultados de los trabajos realizados por los docentes, investigadores y estudiantes. El incremento en la producción científica debe ir acompañada, igualmente, de la elevación de los estándares de calidad y pertinencia que exige la sociedad moderna en la que vivimos. En el siguiente trabajo se propone un análisis de los elementos que inciden en la pertinencia de la investigación científica, tecnológica y de innovación que se realiza en las Instituciones de Educación Superior y su desempeño frente a los cambios que ese mismo desarrollo ha generado. El análisis propuesto se basa en el modelado de las relaciones causales entre los indicadores propuestos mediante mapas cognitivos difusos y el posterior análisis de centralidad. El análisis realizado permitió determinar los factores principales para que las Instituciones de Educación Superior puedan realizar investigaciones científicas serias, pertinentes y útiles para el desarrollo del país, de manera que la producción científica creada podrá formar profesionales con creatividad, dispuestos a innovar y con capacidad de adaptación.

ABSTRACT

Scientific research is an indicator of the quality of the processes in the university environment, so it must be increased by virtue of the results of the work carried out by teachers, researchers, and students. The increase in scientific production must also be accompanied by an increase in the standards of quality and relevance demanded by the modern society in which we live. The following paper proposes an analysis of the elements that influence the relevance of scientific, technological and innovation research carried out in Higher Education Institutions and their performance in the face of the changes that this same development has generated. The proposed analysis is based on the modeling of the causal relationships between the proposed indicators by means of fuzzy cognitive maps and the subsequent centrality analysis. The analysis made it possible to determine the main factors for Higher Education Institutions to be able to carry out serious, relevant, and useful scientific research for the country's development, so that the scientific production created will be able to train professionals with creativity, willing to innovate and with the capacity to adapt.
