Abstract

The family is the fundamental unit of society, protecting and contributing to its integration, well-being, and social, cultural, educational, and economic development. Therefore, schools prioritize family education as a pillar of educational quality. Teachers are assigned the task of carrying out this work; however, primary school teachers graduating from teacher training colleges face the challenge of undertaking this task despite insufficient preparation and work experience, which is vital for guiding parents in this endeavor. As part of the doctoral training project associated with the Program of the Central Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, this issue was addressed as one dimension of the continuing education of these teachers. The research question posed was: How can primary school teachers graduating from teacher training colleges be prepared to work with the families of their students? Therefore, the objective is to design workshops to prepare primary school teachers graduating from teacher training colleges to work with the families of their students. The research employed a qualitative methodology, utilizing various methods, including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. These methods yielded essential information on the topic and its application in educational practice. This proposal contributes to fostering a collaborative culture in which educators and families work together to achieve shared goals, promoting a culture of cooperation and mutual support.
