Professional training through formative research
Abstract
Research training in postgraduate programs, such as the Master's Degree in Occupational Health at UNIANDES, has played a crucial role in the preparation of professionals capable of addressing and solving contemporary challenges in the field of occupational health. One of the fundamental pillars of this training has been the ability to effectively communicate research findings through the writing of scientific articles. In response to the need to strengthen this training, this study has focused on improving the methodology for the preparation of scientific articles. In a way that ensures relevance and applicability in various occupational contexts. To this end, a methodology based on documentary review and critical analysis of previous studies has been used, highlighting a better understanding of the standards of the proposed methodology. Among the results, an increase in citations has been observed, reflecting the recognition of the quality of the research. Consequently, formative research should be encouraged in the classroom and a system of continuous self-assessment in tutoring should be established to maintain and improve the quality and coherence of scientific articles. Therefore, it has been concluded to integrate these practices from the beginning of the academic program to strengthen the capacity of students in applied research in occupational health. In addition, to promote formative research and establish a continuous self-evaluation system in tutoring that ensures the quality of the articles and the advancement of knowledge in occupational health.
