The environmental improvement of journalists has dealt with dispersed elements of the environmental journalistic mode of action, which lack the integration of their contents, do not systematize aspects related to the investigative and educational and pay little attention to the characteristics of the context where they carry out their work. That is why the objective of the research is: Design an improvement strategy for the development of the environmental journalistic mode of action of journalists. As materials and methods, analysis-synthesis and hypothetical-deductive and the systemic-structural-functional method were used at the theoretical level. At the empirical level, documentary analysis, critical appraisal and collective construction workshops were used; and the survey and interview were applied to 10 journalists, and the critical analysis of environmental discourse. The main result of the study lies in the proposal of the strategy, structured into general objective, specific objectives, premises, requirements, actors and four phases with their corresponding objectives, actions and indications. These phases are diagnosis and contextualization, planning and preparation, execution and evaluation. Its implementation will contribute to the improvement of the professional performance of journalists.
