The study aimed to investigate the impact of public strategies on the professional development of educational managers, with special emphasis on leadership as a key factor for improving school management. The research was carried out with 15 managers of educational units in zone 5 of Ecuador to whom a structured survey with a Likert scale was applied under a quantitative approach and a descriptive design; The data obtained allowed us to identify the perceptions of managers about public policies and the professional development opportunities available. Thus, the results revealed that, although there are public educational policies, they are not sufficiently aligned with the needs and realities of managers due to limited participation in policy formulation and insufficient continuous training programs; reaching the conclusion that it is essential to design public strategies more adapted to local realities, promoting greater participation of managers in the decision-making process. In addition to implementing continuous training programs and support systems to guarantee sustainable professional development aimed at improving the educational quality of zone 5 of Ecuador.
