Español Capacity building in agroecological-sustainable through Project based learning on farms in Cienfuegos, Cuba

The work was carried out on farms “Dionisio San Román” CCS (Credit and Services Cooperative) from January 2022 to December 2024, with the objective of developing skills that allow for the adequate exploitation of the current potential of project-based learning. The diagnosis was based on the use of the Agroecological Performance Assessment Tool (TAPE). The research led to the identification of a strategy for the agroecological transition of agricultural farmsfavorable transition toward sustainability, which allows for implementation on other farms with similar conditions. To this end, training was provided through 62 activities based on the development of technical skills, demonstrating a involving 491 participants. The weaknesses detected included a lack of awareness of local potential, such as underutilization of some productive areas. In turn, the use of conservation agriculture was identified as a strength, offering an opportunity to boost production through collaborative projects.
