Postgraduate education has evolved with the incorporation of digital tools, allowing better access to resources and a deeper understanding of treatment methods such as Hyrax and MARPE in transverse expansion in cleft lip and palate patients. This paper sets out to comparatively analyze these methods through a narrative literature review, compiling data from various academic databases. The results indicate that, although MARPE has biomechanical advantages, Hyrax remains relevant in specific clinical situations. Despite the growing preference for MARPE, the need for further research on its long-term effectiveness is highlighted. Likewise, challenges in postgraduate education require the inclusion of specific modules in bone regeneration and maxillary expansion techniques, ensuring that professionals are prepared to address these complexities in an innovative and evidence-based manner, promoting an interdisciplinary approach in the comprehensive care of these patients.
