The purpose of this research was to analyze the level of knowledge about artificial intelligence among university professors of health sciences at a public university. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional design. A validated and reliable questionnaire was administered to 173 professors from different faculties in the health field, including biology, nursing, human medicine, dentistry, and psychology, among others. The instrument evaluated three dimensions: theoretical aspects, artificial intelligence tools applied to education, and their practical use in the classroom. The results showed that 76.9% of professors reached an intermediate level of knowledge, while 23.1% had a high level. Significant associations were identified between the level of knowledge and variables such as gender and employment status, highlighting that women and professors with permanent positions had higher levels of proficiency. The need to promote teacher training programs that integrate ethical, pedagogical, and technical components was highlighted. It was recommended that institutional digital literacy policies be strengthened to encourage the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into university teaching of health sciences.
