Abstract

ABSTRACT
This descriptive study of bibliographic review type was carried out with the objective of analyzing the competences of the social worker from current perspectives, in order to promote the meaning of the competitiveness of this professional, emphasizing those related to the educational field. The methodological strategy was systematized through the methods: documentary, hermeneutic and analytical-synthetic review; and the technique of content analysis. The main findings allow to declare that Social Work as a discipline has a system of its own competences that allows its effective performance in dissimilar spaces; however, despite the importance that the Ecuadorian State confers on the role of the social worker, there is a marked asymmetry between official discourse and praxis, relegating it to a system of limited and controlled benefits. Keywords:
