Herramientas estratégicas para el fortalecimiento de la educación financiera en las parroquias rurales del cantón Tulcán

Abstract

El entorno económico del sector rural en el Cantón Tulcán, caracterizado por ser agroganadero de tipo primario, ha tenido un lento crecimiento en los últimos años; bajo este escenario se propone mejorar el nivel de educación financiera, como base fundamental en el manejo del dinero. Se desarrolla un proceso de investigación cuali-cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y correlacional; se utilizó la encuesta y la entrevista en el levantamiento de información sobre el comportamiento financiero; donde se logra identificar la ineficiente aplicación de los principios básicos de finanzas, con una débil inserción en el sistema financiero. Bajo estas circunstancias se propone un modelo estratégico de aplicación teórico ? práctico sobre elementos fundamentales de educación financiera.

ABSTRACT

The economic environment of the rural sector in the Tulcán Canton, characterized by being a primary livestock farming, has had a slow growth in recent years. Under this scenario, it is proposed to improve the level of financial education, as a fundamental basis in money management. A qualitative-quantitative research process is carried out, of a descriptive and correlational type. The survey and interview were used in gathering information on financial behavior; where it is possible to identify the inefficient application of the basic principles of finance, with a weak insertion in the financial system. Under these circumstances, a strategic model of theoretical and practical application on fundamental elements of financial education is proposed.
