Abstract

Political processes have constituted the bases of the States in the different governments and in Ecuador with the existence of cultural plurality, the autonomy of indigenous peoples is of vital importance for achieving results in the development of the country. Indigenous communities, despite having their autonomy in a legislated manner and supported by the Constitution, practice has shown that there is insecurity in them, the educational processes that have been developed lack actions aimed at understanding and participation in these processes. Methods were applied in the theoretical and empirical order that allowed determining the situation that has existed in the indigenous communities. The results obtained have allowed us to assess that the existing laws have not yet allowed the guarantee of security in these communities and the educational processes that are developed do not have a systematic nature in that sense. Educational institutions in general require increasing educational actions and their quality, which guarantee the assumption of the need on an individual basis and leading participation in community security. The State, as the rector of general policies, together with community leaders, must carry out more concrete actions that guarantee security in indigenous communities from the integration of educational entities and institutions.
