The purpose of this research work is to share the perceptions of Journalism students in relation to pre-professional practices and their link with what they have learned in the academy. This research aims to identify opportunities to improve job placement that pre-professional practices represent for students completing the last cycles of their university career. Through the quantitative method, it was found that 94.5% of the students surveyed recognized the degree of importance that academic training has in the correct performance of professional practice in their internships in the media and independent production companies. Which also ensured that fourteen (14) of the thirty-seven (37) students were hired after completing the internship phase.
