Abstract

A competent professional must show mastery of the Mother Tongue and development of communication skills. Taking into account the difficulties detected in a group of first-year students of the Agroindustrial Process Engineering degree at the Municipal University Center of San Cristóbal, an investigation was carried out starting in February 2923 aimed at determining the elements most affected in basic communication skills, their causes and the ways to solve them. The use of bibliographic review methods made it possible to determine the existence of the problem in other university teaching scenarios. The observation and diagnosis of the indicators allowed affected to corroborate the individual and collective limitations in communication and to apply, from the class, a didactic strategy by the teachers towards reading, interpretation, making inferences, together with other ways, have allowed, during the two application courses, counteract communication problems, within the teaching-learning process
