Digital transformation in public administration has become a crucial issue, with an orientation towards the continuous progress of citizen experience, excellence in public services and investment in areas such as cybersecurity and data protection. The objective of the current systemic review article is to review the importance of digital transformation in the public sector, with an emphasis on procurement, while serving as a discussion in university classrooms. PRISMA was used for the methodology, and the following results were obtained: at first, 600 documents were identified, 553 were excluded for the screening of publications, resulting in 47 articles to be evaluated. At the time of retrieving the publications, 12 could not be downloaded in pdf or html format, resulting in 35 publications. Finally, 17 publications unrelated to the present research were discarded, leaving a total of 18 articles for the systematic review. This research concludes that digital transformation in procurement in the public sector shows a complex and dynamic panorama. The results obtained show a series of emerging trends and persistent challenges, highlighting the growing importance of digitalization in this area. Consequently, digital transformation can significantly favor the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), where digital technologies can accelerate the three pillars of sustainable development: economic growth, social inclusion and environmental sustainability, all of which is made possible if these issues are discussed in university classrooms.
