A Diagnosis of the preparation of computer science teachers in the attention to academic talent

Abstract

The subject of Computer Science brings implicit attention to academic talent, which makes it possible to respond to social demands on the preparation of teachers to face the challenges imposed by the science-technology-society relationship; where the attention to academic talent is based on a scientific-technological thought capable of influencing the development of skills. However, in the Higher Secondary Education of the Mayabeque province, a documentary analysis of the main contributions related to the subject was carried out. The empirical methods used in the exploratory stage were observation, survey and documentary review of the Computer Science teachers, which allowed to detect as deficiencies that the teachers do not have the tools to identify the talent of Computer Science, an adequate link is not established between the attention to academic talent with the curriculum of the subject, in addition, the attention to computer science talent is organized in a spontaneous, non-systematic way and focused on the cognitive; therefore, the objective of the article is to diagnose the preparation of computer science teachers in the attention to academic talent in Higher Secondary Education.
