Currently, education has experienced important changes under the influence of phenomena such as globalization and the growth of technologies, which force educational institutions to adopt transformational leadership styles to improve their management and move towards quality education that promotes collaborative work and the participation of all members of the educational community. However, the lack of management strategies based on transformational leadership is raised as a problem to improve the quality of educational management. The research approach is mixed and descriptive in scope. The objective is to propose a management strategy based on transformational leadership, which favors the educational management of the “Cacique Tomalá” School of Basic Education. Shortcomings are revealed that justify the approach of the strategy based on transformational leadership, as an instrument to be inserted in the strategic planning of said educational unit, promoting this leadership as a style that improves the quality of management, facilitates change, creativity and innovation, with the participation of all actors in the educational community. Experts positively value the performance indicators, highlighting the satisfaction of teachers and students, as well as the participation of the educational community. The topic remains open to future research; both in the “Cacique Tomalá” Basic Education School, as well as in other public educational units in Ecuador
