Educational development and the ongoing training of students require adequate coordination between secondary and university education, as a key factor in ensuring ongoing training and improving the quality of teaching in the context of the digital age. The transition from one educational level to another not only represents academic progress but also entails significant challenges, such as adapting curricula, fostering technological skills, and incorporating digital tools into teaching. Current technological transformations require ongoing teacher training to achieve efficient virtual teaching. This research seeks to examine approaches that allow for better integration between both educational levels in Ecuador, placing special emphasis on training in digital skills and assessment systems as fundamental pillars that enable significant progress in individualized student learning. Through a bibliographic analysis, we explore coordination models, successful experiences, and areas of opportunity that facilitate a smooth and effective transition between high school and higher education. The results show the need to continue preparing teachers for the development of virtual learning and the effective use of technological resources by students from secondary education onwards.
