The preparation of students is influenced by the level of preparation of the teachers and therefore the teaching methods used. For its evaluation, data processing tools are needed to validate its implementation. That is why the objective of the research was to develop a procedure for processing data collected from the evaluation of a higher abilities workshop based on how its implementation influences the teaching strategy of the UNMSM School of Gastronomy. A quantitative approach is used, collecting data through questionnaires administered to students before and after participating in the workshops. These capabilities are evaluated with a Likert scale, and the data are analyzed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results show that critical thinking and problem-solving thinking have a strong correlation with the positive impact of the workshops on the students. It is observed that the first two principal components explain 55-65% of the total variance, allowing the analysis to be simplified without losing significant information. The study concludes that the workshops have impacted two key dimensions of student development: the cognitive dimension (analytical and creative skills) and the practical dimension (executive skills and leadership). Finally, improvements in teaching strategies are suggested to enhance each of these areas more effectively.
