The article presents a theoretical analysis of the application of the socio-ecological resilience approach to environmental education for coastal communities. Based on a systematic literature review using databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, and Google Scholar, the central elements of the socio-ecological resilience approach and its potential to transform environmental education practices are identified. It is argued that environmental education based on socio-ecological resilience transcends mere ecological awareness, becoming a process of community empowerment, adaptive learning, and strengthening the capacity to respond to disturbances such as climate change and its consequences. The article concludes by proposing a conceptual and methodological framework for operationalizing this approach, highlighting its crucial role in building sustainable futures for coastal territories.
