Ethnobotanical integration in School Education
Keywords:
Ethnobotanical, School Education, Biodiversity, Traditional MedicineAbstract
Ethnobotany, when approached through education, allows for the preservation and conservation of biocultural heritage. This research aims to analyze the integration of ethnobotany into school education. To this end, the study was conducted using the PRISMA methodology, with a descriptive and retrospective approach, complemented by a bibliometric analysis and the co-occurrence method, employing the tools of the VosViewer package. The results established six main categories: ethnobotany, education, traditional knowledge, medicinal plants, biodiversity, and traditional medicine. The study demonstrated the relevance of integrating ethnobotany into school education, as ethnobotanical knowledge for teaching science can be an excellent way to engage students, help them learn scientific concepts more meaningfully, and develop a deeper appreciation of their environment and local culture.
