Due to the need for continuous training of tourism workers, the aim is to improve professional development from a co-creation approach, understood as the pedagogical process of joint creation of knowledge between students and teachers, aimed at improving professional performance and generating a positive effect in the organizational context. As a previous phase to the implementation of said approach, this research was performed with the objective of characterizing the process of management of professional development that is carried out in the tourism sector in Camagüey from the Tourism Training Center. A qualitative paradigm was used, with theoretical methods of analysis and synthesis, historical-logical analysis, induction and deduction, systemic approach; and empirical techniques, documentary analysis, semi-structured interviews, Likert-type questionnaire and group interview. Deficiencies associated with the participation of the actors involved in the management of professional development and with aspects related to the specific methodological requirements of the postgraduate course were identified. Likewise, strengths that favor its improvement were noted. The assessment of these processes, from the conception of co-creation in the pedagogical process assumed, reflect the need to contribute new elements to the current conception and to implement ways for its improvement.
