Abstract

Ubiquitous learning is an educational approach that takes advantage of technology to enable learning from any place and time through access to information. It allows students to learn in a continuous and adaptive way, encourages autonomy, personalization and the development of digital skills. The present research shows the effectiveness of ubiquitous learning for adolescents at risk from the Don Bosco Granja Salesiano Project Foundation in Ambato using the PhET Simulator for teaching Newton's Second Law. A quantitative methodology was used with a pre-experimental design and correlational scope, where there were 12 adolescents who underwent various tests. The results revealed that despite the limitations in the lack of electronic devices and limited access to the internet, there was a significant improvement in learning after the intervention. It is shown that the ubiquitous learning approach can be effective in improving academic performance and the development of metacognitive skills in adolescents at risk, where the teacher plays an important role in leading the process from new technological supports, so it is highlights the importance of designing teaching strategies adapted to specific contexts to achieve better learning in students with vulnerabilities.
