Gamification in Natural Sciences: Considerations for Designing Activities for Basic General Education

Gamification implies a positive experience in the development of the curriculum. However, in practice, the need to answer the question is identified: What didactic requirements should be taken into account for the design of gamification activities in the teaching-learning process of the Natural Sciences subject of Basic General Education?, which is assumed as a research problem. Within this framework, the general objective of the research was raised: To propose didactic considerations for the design and development of gamification activities that contribute to the theoretical-practical relationship in the teaching-learning process of students of Basic General Education in Ecuador. For this purpose, the research process was assumed from the practice of the authors, from a qualitative-quantitative approach that prioritized the bibliographic analysis, the systematization of the participation of students, teachers and specialists. As a result, the need to have a methodological reference and prototypes of activities that allow the teacher to gamify the activities based on the potential of the content, the characteristics of the students and the available conditions is confirmed.
