Current teaching faces significant challenges, one of which is ineffective teaching practices, which directly impacts academic performance and student motivation. Specific causes of this situation include insufficient ongoing teacher training, workload overload, and an inadequate work environment, which limit or block the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies and adequate classroom management. The objective of this research is to identify the factors that impact teaching practices, examining contemporary challenges in teaching and focusing on the lack of teaching effectiveness. Previous studies are reviewed, which demonstrate the diversity of these factors, and key related concepts are derived that support the problem. The approach used is a quantitative, descriptive case study, evaluating both internal and external factors that affect teaching practices and professional development. A survey was conducted among 29 teachers at a military training school. The results highlight the teachers commitment and motivation, as they seek to improve their teaching practices. However, the need for project participation, infrastructure renovation, and workload balancing was identified. It is suggested that institutional support be strengthened, resources optimized, and training programs updated.
