Reading comprehension represents a cornerstone of cognitive and academic development in children, as it not only enables access to knowledge but also fosters critical and creative thinking skills essential for comprehensive formation. In this regard, the application of active methodologies in the classroom emerges as an effective alternative to transform teaching and learning processes by positioning students as the main agents of their own knowledge construction. Psychopedagogical strategies such as cooperative learning, shared reading, graphic organizers, and project-based learning have shown positive outcomes in the development of reading competencies. These approaches encourage active participation, intrinsic motivation, and meaningful interaction with texts, which are key to enhancing comprehension at early stages. Moreover, the integration of technological tools and digital resources enhances pedagogical dynamics, providing students with multiple pathways to engage with information. However, ensuring the effectiveness of these strategies requires continuous teacher training to design activities adapted to the sociocultural contexts of learners. This comprehensive approach not only strengthens reading comprehension skills but also contributes to the development of critical and reflective citizens capable of navigating an increasingly complex and demanding world.
