Español The written assignment as a form of final assessment
Keywords:
Evaluation, Coursework, Reference workAbstract
This work began with a literature review of documents such as Study Plan E for the Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Tourism, and the corresponding plan for the Short Cycle in Tourism Assistance; the Organizational Regulations for the teaching process and the management of teaching and methodological work for university programs; as well as research related to the topic of learning assessment and its types in general education and higher education in particular, and specifically, those concerning coursework as a form of final assessment. The objective was to provide a methodological foundation for the creation of reference papers as a modality of coursework due to the inconsistencies detected between the regulatory documents, the studies carried out by researchers, and the level of development of the students for whom this form of assessment is proposed. Defining the steps to consider and the formal aspects for its preparation was essential, since preparing a reference paper requires a clear and organized approach with precise and structured information. The analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive methods, as well as modeling, were employed throughout the research process. The results obtained were satisfactory, both quantitatively and qualitatively. It is recommended to apply this approach to coursework, since students in the early years of these programs do not receive instruction in research methodology. Guiding students in the preparation of research papers can provide them with an initial introduction to scientific activity
