Heritge Education: a Challenge in the Development of Early Childhood Educators

Abstract

The article aims to highlight the significance of the study of heritage education and its influence on the improvement of early childhood educators. Recognizing that heritage education emerges as a key tool to strengthen early childhood praxis, especially in contexts where educational agents require continuous improvement. This article analyses how the integration of tangible and intangible heritage in the preparation processes contributes to the improvement of educational agents. Using a qualitative approach, interviews and workshops were conducted with 20 educators from educational institutions, combining document analysis and participant observation. The results showed that heritage education: promotes interdisciplinarity in educational projects, strengthens permanent collaborative networks between educational institutions, community agents and agencies or other actors. It is concluded that this perspective not only strengthens professional competences, but also links communities in the teaching-learning process, recommending its inclusion in programmers for the improvement of educational agent.
