Language mastery is an essential tool in the academic and professional training of dentistry students, as it enables effective communication with patients, colleagues, and in scientific production. In this context, concept maps emerge as a didactic strategy that fosters the organization and hierarchy of ideas, promoting more meaningful learning. This technique facilitates the understanding of complex concepts, allowing students to connect prior knowledge with new content and to develop a comprehensive view of language applied to dental practice. Research has highlighted that concept maps not only improve information retention but also enhance critical skills such as analysis and synthesis, which are essential for addressing the challenges of higher education. Furthermore, when used in collaborative environments, they encourage collective knowledge construction, generating enriching academic interaction. In dental education, this methodology reinforces the understanding of technical terminology, scientific reasoning, and the elaboration of clinical reports—areas that are fundamental for professional development. The available evidence underlines the importance of implementing innovative strategies that integrate visual and didactic resources, such as concept maps, to strengthen linguistic competencies in future dentists. In doing so, comprehensive training is promoted, integrating knowledge, effective communication, and clinical practice, which are essential for achieving academic and professional excellence.
